Comprehensive Eye Exams
Your comprehensive eye health examination includes state of the art equipment and a series of tests to help determine if your eyes are healthy.
In addition to digital photographs and automated visual field testing, the internal and external structures of your eyes are examined. This approach allows us to provide the best treatment recommendations for our patients.
Our optometrists recommend that patients have annual eye exams starting at the age of 6 months.

Corneal Cross-Linking is a cutting edge technology used to potentially slow or reduce the progression of keratoconus. This innovative procedure has changed the entire landscape of keratoconus treatment. Patients who may have needed corneal transplants can retain normal vision because of this procedure. Please call us to schedule a consultation to determine whether you are good candidate for corneal cross-linking.
Intacs is used to correct vision for mild to moderate keratoconus patients. Please call us to schedule an eye examination to determine whether you are good candidate for corneal intacs.
Cataract surgery is a safe procedure that involves removing a patient’s cataract and replacing it with a new lens. Symptoms of cataracts include blurred vision, glare at night, problems with lights, double vision, and fading colours. There are many different options that are available with cataract surgery. An eye examination is required to determine whether you require cataract surgery and which type of lens would best suit your needs.
Our office offers digital high resolution retinal photography to record a detailed view of the retina. This advanced technology aids in the detection and management of problems such as diabetic changes, macular degeneration, hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma and other diseases in the back of the eye.
Our optometrists recommend that all our patients have a retinal photo taken, including healthy adults and children. It provides a detailed baseline picture of the retina, so we can compare your eyes from year to year. It is especially important for those with a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, retinal diseases, flashing lights, decreased vision or strong glasses prescriptions.
This procedure provides a three dimensional image of the curvature of the cornea. The optometrists use this computerized imaging device to help diagnose corneal diseases, to fit contact lenses on patients with irregular corneas, and to prepare for a refractive eye surgery.
According to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the following patients are covered for yearly eye exams by OHIP:
- Patients 19 and under
- Patients 65 and older
- Patients 20-64 with certain medical conditions
